Wednesday, February 19th, the Girls Varsity Basketball team traveled to Royal Oak for a competitive non-league battle against a program which, like the Eagles, values solid defensive play.  Well, the game fit the bill, as both teams imposed their will on each other in a contentious battle that ultimately favored Lakeland, with the Eagles winning, 30-24.

After allowing Royal Oak to score 14 points in the opening quarter, Lakeland buckled down and limited to Ravens to 10 points for the rest of the game, including just one in the decisive fourth quarter.  In the final quarter, Peyton Baer and Aubrin Miller each knocked down critical 3-point shots to lead the Eagles to the win.

Miller finished with 12 points and Baer finished with 8 points.  Brynn Taliercio contributed 7 points, while Claire Linen tallied 3 points.  

Lakeland moves to 14-5 for the season (11-2 in the LVC).  The Eagles host Marian this Friday.
