Friday night, January 10th, the Girls Varsity Basketball team traveled a short way down Bogie Lake Rd. to take on Walled Lake Northern for a game with top of LVC standings ramifications. The battle-tested veterans on Lakeland's team helped the Eagles secure an important 49-40 win.
Aubrin Miller Lakeland's offensive attack with 14 points, while senior Alena Tiernan contributed 12 points. Peyton Baer added 9 points (all in the second half), and Brynn Taliercio scored 8 points. Kalie Rhines hit a big 3-pointer in the 4th quarter to stretch Lakeland's lead.
Lakeland moves to 6-2 overall, 4-0 in the LVC. More key matchups next week for the Eagles as they travel to South Lyon on Tuesday and Milford on Friday.
