Thursday night, the Girls Varsity Basketball team welcomed Waterford Kettering and came away with a 55-23 victory.
The Eagles were extremely focused from the opening tip as they jumped out to an early 19-2 first quarter lead. Lakeland was even more impressive in the 2nd quarter as the Eagles scored 27 points in the quarter to take a commanding 46-7 lead into the half. The Eagles were sharp offensively and shared the ball well, often making the extra pass for a better shot for their teammate.
Nine players scored on the night led by senior Skylar Halbrook's 13 points. Junior Kalie Rhines had 8 points. Senior Molly Marino and sophomore Aubrin Miller had 7 points each. Sophomore Peyton Baer, senior Parker Ostach, and junior Brynn Taliercio contributed 5 points each.
To add to fun of the evening, the seniors wore some fun socks (see photo).
The win moves the Eagles record to 15-3 (11-2 LVC) on the year. The Eagles are back in action as they host Birmingham Seaholm on Wednesday for our last home game of the season. Go Eagles!
