Girls Varsity Basketball shows grit in late come-from-behind victory at Milford; Eagles win, 35-33

Saturday, the Girls Varsity Basketball team made it 8 wins in a row, but this one was a bit sweeter as most rivalry wins do. The Eagles came from behind to beat Milford on the road, 35-33.
In the second half, the Eagles had a lead that they saw disappear, falling behind the home team 27-24 late in the 4th. But senior Molly Marino hit a huge 3-pointer to tie the game, then the Eagles made a few more plays than their opponent to earn the victory.
Marino paced the Eagles with 11 points as part of a solid all-around effort on her part. Parker Ostach, Brynn Taliercio, and Aubrin Miller each contributed 6 points.
Lakeland now sits a 8-1 overall, and 4-0 (first place) in the LVC. The team travels for another big LVC game this Tuesday at South Lyon.
