On Tuesday night, the Lakeland Girls basketball team opened up LVC play with a home date vs South Lyon East. South Lyon East jumped out to an early first quarter lead and eventually won 60-29. Behind strong shooting in the opening quarter, South Lyon East got out to an early 19-2 advantage. However, the Eagles battled back to close within 10 before eventually falling to the hot shooting South Lyon East team. 

Leading the way for Lakeland was sophomore Grace Goodnough with 9 points, sophomore Summer Ambler with 7, and sophomore Molly Libby with 6 points. Congrats to sophomore Payton Grange as she scored her 1st career varsity points in the game. 

The loss brings the Eagles record to 1-1 and 0-1 in the LVC. The Eagles are back in action on Friday as they take on Troy Athens at home as part of the LVC/OAA Challenge.
