WATERFORD MOTT HIGH SCHOOL: 23
Wednesday night, the Varsity Girls Basketball team honored its three seniors, and when the action on the court started, the Eagles responded with a 28-23 victory.
Trailing by a bucket early in the 4th quarter, the Eagles outscored the visiting Corsairs to clinch the big win. Solid contributions came from many as 8 players scored in the win. Freshman Summer Ambler had 6, freshman Molly Libby had 5, and sophomore Jenna Baer had 4. The girls executed and played for each other throughout.
Before the game, the program honored its three seniors: Deanna Carlson, Morgan Jantz, and Kara Kulis. All three players contributed to the gritty win.
The team will host Milford on Friday as the opening game (5:30pm tipoff) of a Girls-Boys doubleheader. In between the games, the Lakeland Athletic Department will be conducting the 2019 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
