Tuesday Oct 1st - Game 13 LVC home vs Waterford Mott --

What is normally a physical match versus Mott proved to be much less so as both teams came in to enjoy a fair and clean game in the LVC Consolation match. The Eagles worked the ball around and maintained a lot of possession. This created several early chances, but shots were going over and around the net. It wasn't until 7 minutes remaining in the first half that the Eagles were able to break the tie. Off a hard shot inside the box, the ball took a fortuitous bounce and rolled out to a charging #14 Thomas White who took advantage with a strike from 18 yards away -- 1-0 Eagles.

 

The second half continued more with free and relaxed play from both teams, but eight minutes in, Thomas drew a tripping foul outside 20 yards in front of the net. He set up for the free kick and laid a perfect pass next to the wall for a waiting #6 Joshua Lacsamana who took a touch before adding his insurance goal. 2-0. The Eagles made a few late game changes to give forward Brock Vinter (#8 to #0) an opportunity to play goalie and goalie Jay Hensley (#1 to #18). Both got opportunities, Brock with a couple of important saves and Jay with several runs a goal. Unfortunately Jay was called offsides a few times. The game ended with the Eagles up 2-0.
