Monday Sep 23rd - Game 12 LVC at Milford
In a rematch of last week's HVS match, the Lakes Valley Conference tournament pitted the rivals against each other again. On the cool and damp night, the Mavericks started off fast. In the early moments of the match, goalie #1 and Jay Hensley faced and blocked several shots. #6 Joshua Lacsamana also provided defense support on a Milford corner kick that sailed over Jay's head and needed an important back post save. Unfortunately, the Milford scoring broke through halfway through the first half and netted two goals before half. In the second half, Milford added a third goal, but was denied a fourth when their goalie's penalty kick sailed over the goal. But the Eagles fought back and gained more ball possession and composure in the final minutes. With five minutes remaining, a Milford hand ball in the penalty area resulted in a Penalty Kick. The team opted to bring our goalie Jay Hensley up field for the opportunity and he was able to convert. This brought the score to where it would end, at 3-1 in favor of Milford.
