On Monday, September 12, the Lakeland vs. Walled Lake Western Boys Varsity Soccer game was played after being postponed twice the prior week. After a little bit of a slow start for both teams, #2 Quinn Smith got the Eagles on the scoreboard as he found himself in the right place at the right time off a strong shot from #7 Fynn Weisgerber, knocking in the rebound off the goalie into the net. Unfortunately, Western responded with seven minutes left in the half to even the score off a restart from 30 yards out. Then freshman Zach Dobrin (#20) made a quality trap and turn to score with only 2 min left in the half to take the lead back and the halftime score was 2-1. But WLW responded in the second half quickly scoring 3 goals in the first 12 minutes and took away the win, 4-2.
