On Sept 6th, the Boys Varsity Soccer team headed to Waterford, this time to face the Kettering Captains. The Captains played a very high defensive line and caught the boys offsides several times in the first half. With some coaching adjustments, the Eagles figured out a way to break through the defense. With 7 min left in the first half, #20 Zach Dobson found a cutting Fynn Weisberger for the ice-breaker. A couple minutes later, another long ball opened #6 Ryan Kientz for a run down the right wing. He was able to place a cross to an open #10 Ibraheem Hachem who easily re-directed the back into the net. The Captains countered on a corner kick with a header that found the back of the net. The first half ended with the Eagles up 2-1.

In the second half, neither team was able to gather any momentum. But with 13 minutes left, Ryan Kientz sent a restart ball out in front of the net and #15 Elliot Smith was able to head it home for insurance. The game continued with lots of back and forth and our Eagles held on for the 3-1 win.
