Monday, the Boys Varsity Soccer team opened it the home part of its schedule by defeating Holly, 6-0.

The Eagles continued the strong pressure against the Holly defense. After stringing together clean passing and possession, #5 Aidan Staup tallied the first goal from the edge of the 18-yd box. Minutes later, #4 Ian Waldman saved a ball rolling along the Holly goal line and was taken down by the goalie. The referee awarded the penalty kick and #11 Ryan Kientz easily converted for the two-goal lead. A few minutes later, #7 Fynn Weisgerber got in on the action with another goal from 20 yards out. To close out the first half, #2 Quinn Smith was fouled 25 yards out and awarded the foul. He took the restart kick himself and was able to find the net for his first goal. In the second half, the Eagles continued their strong passing. One connection found Fynn dribbling down to the right corner with a perfect cross to a waiting Quinn who was easily able to tap in his second goal. Later in the half, the ball bounced around a few times inside the goalie box, and #15 Elliot Smith found himself in the right spot for a clean-up goal. All in all, the 6-0 win closes out the Eagles preseason.

The boys will start their Lakes Valley Conference season with the Battle of Bogie Lake. Walled Lake Northern will be coming to our field this year on Tuesday, August 23rd. Come out and cheer the boys on. JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7pm.
