On Thursday 9/16, the Boys Varsity Soccer team welcomed the Waterford Kettering Captains onto Lakeland's home field. With a quick start, the Eagles took the lead when #3 Anthony Flevaris broke through the defense and beat the goalie for a 1-0 lead. Ball possession remained key in a very physical game, but with a minute left in the half, the Captains had a well place corner cross to a header goal, tying the game at one a piece. The Second half was much of the same back and forth attempts to get past the defense. At the 10-minute remaining mark, #11 Ryan Kientz served a perfect corner cross to #18 Arthur White's head and he slammed it into the back of the net for the 2-1 lead. For the remaining ten minutes, the Eagles battled through several injuries and hard plays to hang on for the 2-1 win.
