WALLED LAKE WESTERN HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Last Thursday, the Boys Varsity Soccer team claimed its 3rd Conference Championship in the past 4 years, defeating Walled Lake Western 4-0 to secure its place at the top of the Lakes Valley Conference standings.
Scoring in the first half was limited to a Lucas Theaker goal in the 11thmin off of a rebound from Reo Miki.
The 2nd half started with a bang, both teams came out with lots of energy swiftly moving up and down the field. Lakeland goalie Jacob Wojchiehowski made a key stop early on to maintain Lakeland's momentum. The Eagles got back on the board as Theaker notched his 2nd goal of the game 18 min to go. Lakeland’s onslaught continued into the 75thand 77th min with scores from Carter Flipiak, assisted by Jeremy Balzer, and the final goal from Andrea Brulletti.
