Thursday, the Varsity Football team moved to 2-0 on the season with a convincing 56-13 win at Walled Lake Central.
The Eagles were in no mood to take the Vikings for granted, jumping out to a 35-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter. Defense led the way from start to finish with interceptions by Brandon Abray and Derek Johnson, in addition to sacks by Dillon Gacki, Trey Rowley, and Matt Hanneman.
On offense, the Eagles gained 418 total yards. Quarterback Tate Farquhar accounted for 6 TDs, 4 through the air and 2 on the ground. Evan Percin powered through the Vikings defense for 158 rushing yards and 1 TD, while McCoy Biagioli flashed some breakaway speed on a 71-yard TD run.
Lakeland will travel to Walled Lake Western for its first "Friday Night Lights" game this week. Kickoff will be at 7pm.
