Boys Varsity Cross Country finishes 3rd at Rambling Rock Invitational; Matt Verellen and Gavin Johns earn medals

Saturday, Sept. 7th, the Boys Cross Country team competed in the Rambling Rock Invitational, an event at Willow Metropark that featured several of the top teams in the state. The Eagles held their own against the strong competition, placing 3rd overall.
Leading the way was the duo of senior Matthew Verellen and junior Gavin Johns, placing 13th and 14th. Our pack of Jacob Kosidlo, Brenden Humitz, Michael Nivala, and Ayden McDonald followed just a little ways behind. Freshman Owen Nelms rounded out the varsity on the day.
In the JV race, senior Gabe Mahler fought hard on an island by himself for a lot of the race and placed 2nd. Another noteworthy JV runner was Brady Humitz completing his first 5k race in 19:45.
