Pierce Grzymkowski takes 1st place overall in Rambling Rock Cross-Country Invitational; Lakeland finishes 3rd as a team

Saturday, the Boys Cross Country program competed in the Rambling Rock Invitational held downriver at Willow Metropark. The Eagles finished 3rd overall, but Pierce Grzymkowski had a standout effort, placing 1st place with a 15:58.5 time, nipping a competitor by .3 seconds at the line.
Senior Ryan Ward ran for the first time this season and finished 20th with a time of 16:50. Fellow senior Noah Tiernan was right behind him in 21st with a time of 16:55.4. Matt Verellen (23rd) and Gavin Johns (25th) finished out the scoring for Lakeland.
Ayden McDonald, Michael Nivala, Jacob Kosidlo, Gabriel Mahler, Brenden Humitz, and Virat Muddasani also ran in the race.
In the JV race, Lakeland finished 3rd behind the 6th-7th place finish of Gabriel Scott and Matthew Eblen.
