Friday night, the Boys Cross Country kicked off its 2023 season by competing in the Lamplighter meet, an event held under the lights in Livonia. The Eagles finished 3rd in the highly-competitive meet.

Senior Pierce Grzymkowski paced the Eagles, finishing 10th overall with a time of 16:18. Junior Matt Verellen placed 22nd at 16:45. Gavin Johns (28th), Noah Tiernan (29th), and Ayden McDonald (35th) rounded out the scoring for Lakeland.

In the JV race, Lakeland finished 8th with Gabriel Scott leading the Eagles by finishing 13th in a time of 18:23.8.
