Monday, February 24th, the Boys Varsity Basketball team opened up the State Playoffs  with a game against a familiar foe:  Walled Lake Northern.  In a game played at West Bloomfield, the Eagles defeated the Knights, 47-35, thus moving on in the playoffs and finishing the Battle of Bogie Lake series with a 2-1 advantage.

Ethan Rowley led the Eagles with 14 points, while Nsikan Usen added 13 points and 12 rebounds.  The real spark came from Austin Porcasi who drained four 3-pointers in the 2nd quarter to finish with 12 points.

Lakeland moves on the the District Semi-Finals where they will play the defending State Champions Orchard Lake St. Marys (for the second year in a row).  That game will tip off at 5pm, again at West Bloomfield High School.
