Boys Varsity Basketball defeats South Lyon East, 70-58; Eagles set up battle for 1st place against Mott next Tuesday

Last night, the Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated South Lyon East, 70-58. The Eagles got a huge buzzer-beater 3-pointer from Caleb Zurek to end the 3rd quarter, and used that momentum to finish off the victory in the 4th quarter.
Zurek ended the game with 21 points including a dunk. Andrew Turnquist added 16 points, Andrew Platt scored 13 points, and Chey Whitney contributed 9 points.
With the win, Lakeland moves to 16-3 overall, and now have a huge battle for first place in the LVC against Waterford Mott at home this upcoming Tuesday.
