Tuesday, the Boys Varsity Basketball team returned to the court for the first time since March of 2020, taking on Bogie Lake Rd. rival Walled Lake Northern in a key LVC match-up right out of the gate. In a game that rose to the occasion celebrating the return of high school basketball, the Eagles defeated the Knights 61-60, scoring in the last second of play to win. Junior Andrew Platt's full length drive and dish to Caleb Zurek for the game winner sealed the deal for the Eagles.
In back and forth action all night the Eagles were led by junior Caleb Zurek (26 pts.) and sophomore Andrew Turnquist (14 pts) offensively. On the defensive side the Eagles got contributions from senior Shane Ells, senior Max Beagan, junior Andrew Platt, and sophomore Chey Whitney.
The Eagles home opener is this Friday against Oxford in a non-league contest.
