On Wednesday, May 21st, the Boys Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Farmington to face the Falcons in the regional semifinal match. It was a difficult matchup considering the Eagles (6th) and the Falcons (5th) were the only state-ranked teams to meet in the very early rounds due to the random draw. It was a tough match with Lakeland dropping the first two sets. The boys battled back to win sets three and four to force the fifth set tie breaker. The Eagles were confident entering game five with the momentum they built. Unfortunately, some unforced errors put the Eagles a few points behind early in the quick 15 point fifth set. Lakeland was unable to recover and lost to the Falcons, ending the run in the state tournament. There were notable performances from Jacob Dobrin who lead in kills, Jacob Valenton led the defense in digs, while Zach Dobrin led in assists along with a handful of kills. Tyler Buback and Fisher Demarest helped the offense with some scoring opportunities. 

With the early exit, the Eagles fell short of expectations and their goal of making the elite eight or the final four this season. It was a great run with many accomplishments, including a silver bracket tournament win, a gold tournament championship victory over 4th ranked Northville, and an undefeated conference record.
