Boys Varsity Volleyball claims Conference Championship; Eagles defeat Walled Lake Western and Walled Lake Northern

Wednesday, May 14th, the Boys Varsity Volleyball team met Walled Lake Western and Walled Lake Northern at Geisler Middle School for the last regular season matches. A victory against the Warriors would seal a conference title for the Eagles. Western came out ready to spoil the celebration for the Eagles. The match did indeed start in favor of the Warriors with a WLW victory in set 1 (25-21). The Eagles needed to regroup to stay in first place. Set two went to Lakeland (25-21). This forced a third set, where the conference trophy and an undefeated conference record was on the line! The third set went the way of the Eagles (15-9) to win the match and the conference trophy. Zach Dobrin led the victory in kills and assists. Fisher Demarest and Harrison Vivier followed with some kills out of the middle position. Derek Varga added some solid assists, along with Jacob Valenton adding some digs. It was great to see the boys celebrate with the conference trophy!
The regular season wrapped up against the Knights of Walled Lake Northern. The Eagles won in two sets (25-16, 25-16) to seal an undefeated conference record.
Come join Lakeland at home for some regional playoff action on Monday, 5/19 at 6pm, where the Eagles take on Troy Athens. Come out and support the Eagles as they play in the first round of the state tournament!
