Saturday, May 10th, the Boys Varsity Volleyball team faced some tough competition from around the state at the Walled Lake Central Tournament. Lakeland finished first in their pool after a split in a tough match against state-ranked Lake Orion. The Eagles finished 7 and 1 in pool play and received the second of five seeds for the playoffs in the gold bracket. Ultimately, Lakeland met the number one tournament seed and the state-ranked (4th) Northville Mustangs in the finals. Northville is a highly respected team with a lot of talent across the board. The boys went into the match with confidence, but also a realistic mindset. In the end, Lakeland prevailed in two sets beating Northville 25- 20 and 25-19 to bring home the tournament trophy. The scores didn't really reflect the battle, as the lead changed hands multiple times throughout the match.
