Boys Junior Varsity Skiing finishes 14th at Don Thomas Cup, racing with the minimum number of skiers

This past Friday, the JV Boys Team headed to Pine Knob to race in the Don Thomas Cup. 17 teams participated in the event from all over Southeast Michigan with 145 athletes racing, a huge field. Lakeland only had four boys, which is the minimum team size and all four racers have to finish to score as a team. No small pressure on them! They all finished and represented Lakeland well.
Our four skiers were freshman Borja Guillen-Mendez who finished 16th overall in GS and 26th in Super G , freshman Conner Lance was 34th in the Super G, freshman Shane Hyatt was 58th in GS, and sophomore Nate Bryde. The boys finished 14th overall in the team scoring. Congrats to our JV boys on a great season!!!
