During the second day of the Perfect Game Michigan High School Showcase, the Varsity Baseball faced two more state-ranked teams: Mattawan and Jenison. Although the Eagles lost both games, the experience of battling premier teams in the state was invaluable in preparation for the upcoming state tournament.
Lakeland lost to Mattawan, 7-5. Bo Bishop had 3 hits and Ethan Yen knocked in 2 runs.
The Eagles fell to Jenison, 8-1. Brooks Scheck had 2 hits and Jack Miller had Lakeland's only RBI.
This week, Lakeland finishes its LVC schedule with 3 games against South Lyon East.
