Friday, February 6th, the Girls JV Basketball team hosted the Cougars of South Lyon East in another LVC showcase.  The Eagles played well in the first quarter keeping the game close only being down 4 points behind a basket by Scholastica Usen.  The second quarter lacked flow with both teams attempting 13 free throws.  Lauren Burgess, Annika Chinavare and Hayden Pawlak scored for Lakeland in the quarter, but South Lyon East was able to extend their lead to 17-9 at halftime.  

The Eagles made a push in the third quarter to get back into the game but were only able to trim the Cougars lead by 1 point in the quarter.  Jaylyn Rhines and Hayden Pawlak scored 4 points apiece and Haley Hewitt contributed a free throw in the quarter.  Unfortunately, Lakeland’s offense went cold in the fourth quarter getting a single free throw by Pawlak allowing South Lyon East to pull away for the 32-19 victory.
