Tuesday February 3, the Girls Junior Varsity Basketball team traveled down Bogie Lake Road to visit the Knights of Walled Lake Northern.

The Eagles came out vs. the Knights 2-3 zone defense scoring 5 points in the first quarter on a Payton Gignac three point shot and a Jaylyn Rhines layup leading to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter.  The second quarter was more up and down with both teams scoring off turnovers.  Rhines led Lakeland in the quarter with 5 points while Scholastica Usen and Hayden Pawlak also contributed.  Walled Lake Northern won the quarter, but Lakeland was able to keep a 1-point lead 14-13 at the half.

The second half ended up being almost a carbon copy of the first.  Lakeland won the third quarter 6-2 fueled by Rhines, Gignac, and Annika Chinavare.  The fourth quarter was another offensive explosion by both teams where Walled Lake Northern threatened to take the lead several times.  Morgan Ross stepped up in a big way scoring 7 points from all levels.  Rhines and Pawlak also contributed as the Eagles outscored the Knights by 1 to secure a 31-25 victory.
