Girls Varsity Golf moves into 1st place in LVC; Eagles hand South Lyon its first LVC loss in at least 8 years

Thursday, September 4th, the Varsity Girls Golf team earned a big win against South Lyon in a well played match at Brentwood GC. The teams were tied, 173-173, but the Eagles won on a 5th score tiebreaker in an exciting match that came down to the final putt. Senior Aubrin Miller was the match medalist with a 41. Also scoring for the team were Anna Linen (42), Abigail Ngo (43), Claire Linen (47), Cailyn Milewski (47), and Khloe Spell (53). Seniors Kate Schnell (61) and Emma Wallo (61) also competed as individuals. With the win, the Eagles are now tied for first with South Lyon at the halfway point of conference play. It was the first time South Lyon had lost an LVC match in at least 8 years.
The JV match, hosted by Cattails GC, was also close with South Lyon winning by a score of 242-246. Freshman Abby Schlotterer was the match medalist by five shots with a score of 52. Also scoring for the Eagles were Rachel Barber, Harper Ballew, Claire Griswold, Leah Kalhorn, and Kylie Yen.
The golf program has matches next week against WL Central and WL Western.
