On Wednesday, August 20th, the Girls Golf program played in the LVC Preseason Conference tournament hosted by Brentwood GC. In the Varsity event, the Eagles set a new school record with an excellent team score of 336, placing second to South Lyon by two strokes. Congratulations to senior Anna Linen who was the tournament medalist by four shots with a personal best score of 76 that included 12 pars and 2 birdies. Freshman Abigail Ngo placed 4th overall with a score of 83, that included a highlight eagle on her final hole. Also scoring for the Eagles were senior Claire Linen (88, 9th place), junior Cailyn Milewski (89, 10th place), senior Aubrin Miller (96, 16th place) and senior Khloe Spell (106, 28th place). 

In the JV event, Lakeland tied for 4th with a team score of 478. Freshman Baylie Krause led the way for the Eagles placing 13th overall. Also scoring were sophomore Kylie Yen (17th), junior Rachel Barber (19th), sophomore Autumn Nikkila (20th), sophomore Leah Kalhorn (26th) and sophomore Harper Ballew (27th).

The golf team begins their conference dual matches next week against South Lyon East and Milford.
