Thursday, the Varsity Football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a come-from-behind victory at home against Walled Lake Central, defeating the Vikings 14-7.

The Vikings jumped out to the lead in the first half, scoring a touchdown that proved to be the only score in the first half.  Lakeland, after struggling to get anything going on offense, finally broke through late in the 3rd quarter as QB Sean Latham broke free around the left side of the line for a 72-yard touchdown that even the score at 7-7.  In the 4th quarter, defensive back Grant Glossinger intercepted a WLC pass deep in Viking territroy.  Following the turnover, Trevor Tschudin scored on a sweep around the the left edge, reaching the end zone due in part to some solid downfield blocking by Lakeland's receivers.  Some key plays on both sides of the ball helped Lakeland secure the 14-7 win, moving to 2-0 in LVC action.

This Friday, the team will host Walled Lake Western, with kickoff scheduled for 7pm.
