Friday, October 9, the Varsity Football team moved to 4-0 on the season by defeating Waterford Kettering, 16-7.
Neither team found much success on offense in the first half, with the only scoring coming from Lakeland's Mark Tingle who nailed a 38 yd. field goal.
Kettering would take a 7-3 lead in the 3rd quarter, but the Eagles capitalized on a fumble deep in Waterford Kettering territory as part of a 13-point 4th quarter scoring outburst.
The defense made the 16-7 score stand up for the Eagles.
Luke Kaleto and Tate Farquhar both scored rushing touchdowns for Lakeland. Reed Jabiro led the Eagles with 83 yards rushing while also catching 3 passes for 29 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles were led by Mike Sherrill (8 tackles) and Shane Ells (5 tackles).
