Boys Cross Country team places 2nd at MHSAA Regional race; Eagles advance to the MHSAA State Meet

Saturday, October 25th, the Boys Cross Country team placed 2nd at the MHSAA Regional Meet hosted by Royal Oak High School. The Eagles earned 91 points, sneaking by Detroit Catholic Central by 7 points. With the result, Lakeland advances to the MHSAA State Meet.
Senior Gavin Johns returned from injury to earn All-Region status by placing 8th with a season's best time of 16:19.4. The Eagles had a pack of 3 runners finish as a pack in the 16th, 17th, and 18th places: Lucas Naspinsky (16:46.5), Brenden Humitz (16:48.1), and Owen Nelms (16.51:4). Tyler Johns took 32nd with a new PR of 17:18.
Landon Johns (49th, 17:56.0, new PR) and Nathan Sievert (74th, 18:42.3) also competed for the Eagles.

Lakeland will compete in the MHSAA State Meet this Saturday, November 1st at Michigan International Speedway. Racetime is scheduled for 3:30pm.
