Saturday, the Boys Cross-Country team hosted a rare Saturday morning dual meet with Waterford Mott as the visiting opponent. With the race starting a 9:00am, the Eagles demonstrated that they were wide awake and ready to run, defeating the Corsairs, 17-44.
Junior Alex Sullivan and senior Reese Camp took the race out harder than usual flying through the mile in 5:17. They finished the race hitting times in what would be course records in 16:54 (Sullivan) and 16:59 (Camp). A large flock of Eagles were close behind them coming in 4th-8th positions. Leading that pack of runners was junior Hunter Cybulla finishing in a personal best time of 17:44, followed by junior Ty Nagy (5th-17:48), sophomore Jared Platt (6th-17:50), junior Isaac Tiernan (7th-18:03), and senior captain Emmet Reamer (8th-18:09).
The win moves Lakeland to a record of 4-1.
