Friday night, the Varsity Football team completed a 6-0 regular season by soundly defeating Milford, 38-0.  As a result of the Eagles unblemished regular-season record, Lakeland has earned a first-round bye and home field advantage in the MHSAA playoffs.

Lakeland led 17-0 at halftime on a touchdown run by Reed Jabiro, a Tate Farquhar to Mike Sherrill touchdown pass, and a field goal by Mark Tingle.  In the second half, Evan Percin added 3 touchdown runs to account for the final score.  

The defense was solid throughout, forcing several turnovers including a fumble recovery by Lucas Hopkins, an interception by Derek Johnson, and an interception by Jack Kettler.

With a revised playoff system in place this year, the Eagles now will have a week off from competition as a result of earning the #1 seed in the MHSAA Division I region.  They will host a playoff game the following week, playing the winner of the Howell versus Hartland game.
