Friday afternoon, the Boys Cross Country team traveled to Kensington Metro Park for the first ever pre-Regional race. This race was created to limit the Regional competition size during this Covid season. The top four teams and the next seven individuals would advance to the Regional competition in Clarkston this coming Friday.
Lakeland won the race with 49 points, defeating fellow LVC teams Milford (2nd), Walled Lake Northern (3rd), and Walled Lake Central (4th). These teams along with the other Regional qualifiers will square off this Friday for the opportunity to race at the state finals.
The Eagles were led by junior Alex Sullivan (2nd place). Other scorers for Lakeland included senior Reese Camp in 7th, junior Ty Nagy in 12th, sophomore Jared Platt in 13th, and junior Isaac Tiernan in 15th.
