WALLED LAKE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL: 6
Last Friday, the Varsity Football team improved to 5-0 on the season with a convincing 35-6 home victory over Walled Lake Central, an extra special win because the program was celebrating Senior Night.
The Eagles jumped out to a 14-0 lead on two long touchdown passes from Tate Farquhar. The first went to Shane Ells who made a contested catch and broke free to score. Later, Mike Sherrill scored on a 70-yard catch and run. As the first half was winding down with under 10 seconds left, Farquhar completed his 3 TD pass to Ells.
In the second half, Racer Deboard broke several tackles on a reverse to score from 30 yards out. In addition, Farquhar completed his 4th TD pass of the day to Sherrill again, this time on a 4th and goal from 28 yards away.
The Eagles will complete the regular season portion of the schedule next week with a game at Milford.
