LINDEN HIGH SCHOOL: 136.850
The Huron Valley United Gymnastics team had an awesome LVC conference meet on Friday night in Linden. The team came away with a score of 140.5 beating out the closest competitor, Linden which finished with a 136.850. Thus, the team earned its second consecutive LVC Conference Championship.
There were numerous medal winners in the event. On vault, LHS junior Nicole Graham was the LVC Vault champion with a score of 9.3. Also placing on vault were LHS senior Rachel Palaian, LHS freshman Elena Hale, and IA sophomore Maeve Spicer. Maeve Spicer is the LVC bars champion with a score of 8.45. Also placing on bars were Rachel Palaian, Nicole Graham, Milford junior Laura Nowicki, and LHS junior Paige Elwood. The balance beam is where the team really excelled going 7 for 7 with no falls. Rachel Palaian, IA junior, Sarah Prell, Nicole Graham, Maeve Spicer, Milford junior Morgan Hester, and Laura Nowicki all placed on beam. Nicole Graham is also the LVC floor exercise champion. Also placing on floor were Laura Nowicki, Morgan Hester, LHS freshman Annie Bolling, LHS freshman Ava Barwikowski, and Rachel Palaian.
In the all around, Nicole Graham earned the the title of LVC Champion. 2nd place went to Rachel Palaian, 5th place was Maeve Spicer, 6th place was Laura Nowicki, and 8th place was Ava Barwikowski.
Next, the team will compete in the MHSAA Regionals on March 7th, with the event being held at Lakeland High School.
