Monday, the Boys JV Basketball team opened up the 2019-2020 season with a strong 61-35 victory over South Lyon East.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick double-digit lead, finishing the first half with a 37-17 lead. Sophomore Caiden Carlson helped get things going early by scoring 7 of his 16 points in the first quarter.
Altogether, Lakeland had 10 different players put points on the board. Besides Carlson's 16 points, Reed Jabiro (10 points), Luke Kaleto (8 points), and Chey Whitney (8 points) were among the Eagles' top scorers. Racer DeBoard had a solid game running the offense from the point guard position.
