Boys Freshman Baseball opens season with a DH split at Waterford Kettering

Thursday, the Boys Freshman Baseball Team opened its 2019 season with a Doubleheader at Waterford Kettering. On a blustery & cold afternoon, the Eagles overcame some early rust only to have their late inning comeback fall short in a 5-3 Game 1 loss. Game 2 featured a dominant performance by pitcher Gavin Trout. In four shut out innings, he allowed one hit and struck out 10 of the 12 outs recorded. Nolan Hull struck out the side with the bases loaded to preserve a 2-0 shutout.

Clutch contributions on the day came from: Caiden Carlson - 3-5 w/ 2RBI & 4SB. Nick Broome 1-2, 1RBI, Dakota Schultz 1-2, 2SB, 1R. Nik Pearson 1-3 & 1R. Gavin Trout 1-2, 1RBI.
