Last Thursday the Girls Swim and Dive team traveled to Waterford Kettering to open up its conference dual meet schedule. The team went home with a convincing victory and several noteworthy performances.

54 of the 70 Individual performances on the day resulted in a season best or personal best. The team saw its first athlete qualify for the MHSAA State finals when sophomore Elle Dameworth led off the 200 Freestyle relay in 25.19 to punch a ticket to the state meet in the 50 Freestyle. She was joined by Sophomore Brooke Stec, Senior Mallory Armstrong and Sophomore Coral Hebert on that relay that swam 1:43.00 which is a new team best this season, the #4 overall time in Oakland County and the #7 overall time in Division 1 at the State level.

Through all the personal bests, the athlete of the meet was Sophomore Ashley Raya who won the 50 Freestyle (Season Best) took second in the 100 Freestyle (Personal Best) and stepped up to swim on two relays when other athletes had to drop out.

The team moves its record to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the LVC.

They continue their conference schedule this week with a home meet vs Walled Lake Northern @ Milford High school. Huron Valley then competes in the Oakland County Championships with the diving finals happening Friday night @ Novi High School and the Swimming Finals happening Saturday @ Lake Orion High school.
