Last week, the Huron Valley United Girls Swim and Dive team blasted their way into the history books night as they delivered South Lyon its first loss EVER in an LVC swimming competition, winning the meet 101-84.

There were a lot of great swims to highlight from the meet.

The medley relay had in-season best splits from senior Anna Malik, freshman Elle Dameworth, and junior Mallory Armstrong on the A relay in addition to sophomore Olivia Schnieder on the B relay.

In the 200 Freestyle several athletes posted personal best performances with Schnieder being joined by freshman Brooke Stec, senior Clara Periera, as well as juniors Pia Grottschreiber, Sophia Begerska, and Mila Koivula. Senior Paxton Moore had a season best time in the event as well.

Freshman Lauren McCaul won the 200 IM in her fastest unsuited time ever.

The 50 freestyle also saw several best times, with sophmore Victoria Adams swimming under 34 for the first time and junior Amelia Conz dropping under 33 as well. Freshman Elle Dameworth posted her first of two unsuited sub 26s on the night before swimming to a new personal best to win the 100 fly. Freshman Ashley Raya also saw herself swim a personal best time in addition to senior Gracie Smetana posting a season best swim as HVU swept the top 3 spots in the event

Freshman Lauren McCaul and senior Anna Malik both swam to unsuited season/personal best times en route to a 1-2 finish in the 500, while freshman Mya Hutchinson battled through a knee injury for a great 3rd place swim in the event.

After losing a close 200 free relay, we closed out the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 400 free relay to clinch the win.

The athlete of the meet was Riley Morgan for breaking 1:00 in 100 for the first time with a 59.64 swim.

Huron Valley improved its record to 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in the conference.

They close out their conference schedule on Thursday 10/21 with a home meet vs South Lyon East @ Milford High School, and follow that with Senior Night on Wednesday 10/27 to close out the regular season vs Notre Dame Prep.
